Preconception Fellowship Program

Our inaugural Preconception Fellowship is off to a great start!  The Fellowship - which is designed for Juniors and Seniors who serve as peer educators at their university to support their current efforts as peer educators, connect them to mentors and a community of colleagues around the South, and build their capacity for future leadership in public health - came together for a kick-off meeting in early October in Durham, NC. Fellows learned more about the EWSE Coalition, delved into key issues in preconception and women's health in the South, and examined different concepts of leadership.  Fellows and their Mentors also got a chance to connect and learn more about each other.  Fellows are now beginning the process of starting a photovoice project at their home university, as well as continuing to liaiase with each other and their Mentors.
